Sandra's Awards

Sandra Worth is an internationally published author of six historical novels on England's Wars of the Roses chronicling the demise of the Plantagenets and the rise of the Tudors, three with Penguin U.S.A. She has won dozens of awards and prizes and each book is an award-winner.

The Rose of York: Fall From Grace won the $1,500 First Place Prize of the Francis Ford Coppola/Ray Bradbury/ Moxie Films-sponsored 2003 New Century Writers Awards. The prize was awarded at Sundance.

490 novels were entered into the 2003 contest. The final judges included top industry professionals, directors, film marketing professionals, fiction writers, playwrights, fiction editors, screenwriters, executive producers, and literary agents.

The Rose of York: Fall From Grace won the $1,500 Grand Prize in the 2003 Open Manuscript Competition of the Bay Area Writers League.  Comment from the judges, “This is one fine masterful work, the true quill.”
 

The Rose of York: Love & War won First Place in the 2003 Gardenia Press Competition (Publication declined)

The Rose of York swept all nine categories of the 2000 Authorlink New Author Awards Competition to win the $500 Authorlink Grand Prize and an all-expenses-paid trip to the University of Georgia after winning the $100 First Place Prize in the Historical/Western genre. Grand Prize Judge was Tom Colgan, Executive Editor at Penguin Publishing Group
